Prestigious boarding schools invite summer school organisations to arrange English language courses during the easter and summer holidays, i.e. March/April and July/August. Participating students therefore enjoy the full range of facilities available in boarding schools. I work with several organisers of summer schools and language courses in the UK and I can assist you with the selection of a suitable programme for your child.
These short intensive summer courses combine learning with a varied range of extra-curricular activities. The courses are suitable for young people from the age of 8 to 17 years. Several students take part in a summer school as a ‘taster’ for life at a boarding school.
The balanced programmes offer students the opportunity either to study English in order to improve their language skills or, for older teenagers, to take a more academic, pre-college/university course. In addition, several organisations offer a language course combined with a Sports or Dance/Drama/Performing Arts Academy. Some of the organisations also offer summer courses for adults aged 18 and over.
I believe that it is important for summer school organisations to offer broad-based learning opportunities as well as concentrating on the academic achievement of the student. Therefore I work with those that combine a wide range of cultural, social and sporting activities alongside their academic programmes.
